LORIKEETS
I have always been interested in photography and since I bought my first Digital SLR camera last year my interest has become almost an obsession.
Living where I do I have many different birds visiting my garden and the Royal National Park, south of Sydney, is only a short distance away with many more birds and other wildlife just begging to be photographed. The beaches in this area are great too.
These lorikeets, parents and two babies, visited me everyday for a long time because of the food I put out for them. While they love sunflower seeds these are not good for them since the seeds rub off the furry coatings they have on their tongues which is needed to collect the pollen from the flowers. The food I give them is a powder specially formulated to be as near to their natural food as possible.

These are lovely pictures Hazel, and that croc' (or is it a 'gator) looks HUGE! The birds are beautiful too. That was a rare treat, the lorikeet displaying for you (singing for his supper/breakfast.) You seem to have got the knack of this blogging lark now, so please tell me whenever you put more pics up. Les x
